Lead Safety – What you need to know
Our leads are handmade from strong climbing grade materials and sturdy hardware, built to keep up with hounds of all sizes. They are all field tested by our resident greyhound Barney, who is 37kg. However even the toughest kit has its limits, so here’s what you need to know:
- Use for walkies only – not for tie-outs or unsupervised use.
- Check hardware regularly – clips and rings should be inspected for signs of wear.
- Chewing – no rope is truly chew-proof. If your dog has a taste for chair legs, don’t let them chew their lead.
- Match size to strength – our clips are rated, but always choose the right style for your hound’s weight and walking habits.
- Replace if damaged – a worn lead isn’t a safe lead.
Strong, stylish, and made with care — but always remember: safety first, squirrels second.
Rope Thickness Guide
Not all ropes are created equal, a few millimetres can change everything, from the look in your hand to the style on your hound.
- 8mm Rope – Slim, lightweight, and city-smart. Perfect for hounds who like to make the pavement their runway.
- 10mm Nylon Rope – Smooth, luxe, and polished. A premium everyday option with a softer hand-feel.
- 12mm Rope – Bold, strong, and practical. Ideal for bigger hounds or countryside walks where strength matters most.

Each lead is crafted with the same secure hardware and tailored finish, the difference is in the look and the feel.
